Wears a Chronofighter Oversize TT Limited Edition
John was born on the 16th of April 1972 in Morecambe, England.
At the age of five he began riding in motorcross, changing to road
racing at the age of 18.
Johns first race bike was a 1992 TZ250 he bought with the money
he made from collecting mussels in his home town of Morecambe Bay.
Bricklaying was Johns trade until his talents for motorcycle racing
were recognised. He was inspired from an early age by the likes of
Steve Hislop and Joey Dunlop, and believed that one day he would be
racing alongside them. This dream certainly came true as Johns T.T.
debut in 1996 won him the best newcomer award. He finished 3rd in
the lightweight 250 race in 1997 and again in 1998. 1999 saw John
become the British 250cc champion and the following year he won his
second T.T title in the singles race. 2004 was an exciting year for
the Morecambe rider as he was drafted into the Hawk Kawasaki squad
half way through the season to replace the injured Glen Richards,
this together with his hat trick of victories at the Isle of Man
T.T.s,where he also set a lap record of 127.68mph in the F1 race
and another in the juniors. With 3 Superbike wins in the last four
races and five wins in two years, John Mc Guinness is most
certainly the T.T.s current number one road racer, He has an
incredible knack of putting in scintillating speeds from a standing
start, John is also one of only four other riders to win three
T.T.s in one week.
Now a member of the official HM Plant Honda, John scored his
second successive top six finish in round three of the National
Superstock Championship at Thruxton, Hampshire, on Easter
Monday.
With his 11th T.T. victory achieved there are only two other T.T.
riders records to better, these are Mike Hailwood with 14 T.T.s and
Joey Dunlop with an amazing 26 T.T. wins.
